The house is only
part of the story.
Restoration means more than repairing a building. It also means creating opportunities for people whose abilities are too often overlooked.

Restoring a sense of dignity.
People experiencing homelessness are people first. They have value, abilities, and the potential to contribute. Too often, the way they are treated leaves them doubting those truths themselves.
Hope Street Restoration offered meaningful employment, practical training, and opportunities for leadership. The aim was to help people recognize their own abilities—and to help the community recognize them, too.
Work worth taking pride in.
A repaired wall, a finished room, a home ready for its next owners: the results are tangible. They give people something they can point to and say, “I helped do that.”
We value a safe, supportive workplace and clean and sober living. The work creates an opportunity; each person’s experience and path forward is their own.
A company.
A shared purpose.
Hope Street Restoration is a private, for-profit company founded by Shelley and Barry Bacon. It partnered with Hope Street Project to connect people experiencing homelessness with work restoring houses.
The company and the nonprofit are distinct organizations. Their shared concern is for people, their opportunities, and their place in the community.
Six houses. Four years.
Over four years, our team completed six project houses in the Colville area. The homes and the work behind them are the focus of this website.
We do not currently have a house under restoration. Future projects have not been announced.
